Erika plays with different types and colors and textures of clay, blending them to create slabs with unique, one-of-a-kind, marbled or swirled patterns. The revealed pattern dictates the type of piece each will become and they are left unglazed (or transparent glazed) to allow the raw clay character to shine. Erika is also exploring a bas relief-style with floral and botanical subjects to create three-dimensional ceramic wall hanging pieces.
